DonationMatch is a freemium platform that connects companies with nonprofits seeking in-kind donations for events. If a company in our network directed you here, they use DonationMatch to manage their donation program — meaning your application goes through us so they can review it alongside others. Creating a free account takes just a few minutes, and once you're set up, you can apply to that company and discover other donors your organization may qualify for.
How to Get Started with DonationMatch
1) Create a Nonprofit Profile
- Visit https://my.donationmatch.com to begin your new account registration:
- Complete the requested information, accept the DonationMatch Terms of Service and consent to store information, and click "Register." OR, if you already have a login and need to add a new organization, log in and click the person icon in the upper-right corner to select "Create New Profile."
- After you have a login, select the option to create a "Nonprofit" profile.
- Complete all required fields (marked with an asterisk *) on each page and submit your profile for review.
Nonprofit Verification Process:
- Our team will review your organization's exempt status, ensure the website works, and verify your employee status or (if a volunteer or third-party fundraiser) permission to solicit donations using the organization's EIN (or BN in Canada).
- You’ll receive an email once your profile is activated or if more information is needed.
- Reviews typically take up to 2 business days (up to 5 during high-demand periods).
Tip for Faster Verification:
If your organization is exempt by default (e.g., Government, Church, Public School), uploading a completed and signed W-9 or IRS letter certifying your organization's name and federal EIN can speed up the process.
2) Add Your Event
- Once your account is validated, you’ll see an "Add an Event" button on your dashboard.
- Fill out the event details carefully—donor companies use this information to decide whether to approve your requests.
- Be thorough and accurate—good grammar and spelling can make a positive impression.
3) Request Donations
- After adding your event, click "Find Donations" in the left menu bar or To Do box to see which donations you qualify for from our network. This list may take a few moments to load the first time and will look similar to this:
- Click on any available item to see its details and review any terms. If it is something you want to request, select a quantity (if needed) and click "Request Item" to submit a request. Your organization profile and event information will be sent to the donor company for review.
If a company referred you to apply through DonationMatch and you meet their criteria, you will be able to request their donation here.
Additional Donation Links/Opportunities: Upgraded accounts also see up to 100 additional links to donation pages for companies not in our network that you may be eligible for. These are provided for convenience only as extra support for your efforts.
Important: Donor companies decide independently whether to approve requests. Some may take days or weeks to respond, and some may only reply if they approve your request. There are options to send direct messages to companies that have not yet responded to you on each request record.
4) Receive Approved Donations and Thank Donors as Promised
- Once a company approves your request, you’ll receive an email with delivery, pickup, or printing instructions.
- You can see the status of all requests, offers, and responses in your "My Activity" dashboard.
- We encourage you to thank each donor publicly through your website, newsletters, and/or social media as promised in your event details (how you answered the question: "Where will donors be publicly thanked?")
Membership Details
Your account type determines your request and event limits.
Free Membership:
- Send 1 request per day
- Have up to 3 requests approved per event. Requests approved by companies that referred you to apply on DonationMatch with a referral code do not count towards this limit.
- Can work on 1 event at a time
- There are no limits on the number of offers (initiated by companies) you may accept.
Pro Event Upgraded Membership:
- Removes limits on # requests

Pro VIP (Year) Upgraded Membership:

- Removes limits on # active events you can work on at a time.
